Our Morocco Collection includes necklaces, bracelets, keychains, phone cases and mirrors – all crafted from premium materials and backed by a 365-day guarantee. Whether you grew up in Casablanca, Marrakech, Amsterdam, Brussels or Paris: this necklace connects you to your heritage. At d'origine, people from more than 40 countries show where they come from. The Morocco Collection is one of the most popular in our range.
What Does the Moroccan Coat of Arms Mean?
The Moroccan national emblem features a green pentagram – the Seal of Solomon (Khatam Sulayman) – on a red shield, held by two Atlas lions. Above the shield sits a royal crown, and below it a banner bearing the Quranic verse "In Tattansiru Billah Tantasiru" – "If you glorify God, He will glorify you". The five-pointed star is Morocco's central symbol and has a long history: it appears on coins dating back to the 4th century BC and was used as a sovereign emblem by the Almohad dynasty in the 12th century. The red colour of the flag represents the Alawite dynasty, which has ruled Morocco since 1631, making it one of the oldest ruling dynasties in the world. Green symbolises Islam and hope. The two lions refer to the Atlas Barbary lion, a subspecies once native to North Africa and a symbol of strength and royalty. When you wear a Moroccan necklace with the star, you carry one of the oldest symbols of North Africa.
Moroccan Jewellery: Gold, Silver and Berber Heritage
Morocco has one of the most diverse jewellery traditions in the world – shaped by Arab, Berber, Andalusian and Jewish influences. Berber jewellery from the Atlas and Rif regions is renowned worldwide: bold silverwork with geometric patterns, coral, amber and enamel has been part of Berber identity for centuries. The fibula (Tizerzai) – an elaborately crafted cloak pin – is one of the most iconic pieces of Berber goldsmithing. In the medinas of Fès and Marrakech, the goldsmithing trade thrives to this day: intricate goldwork, engraved bangles and pendants featuring the Hand of Fatima (Khamsa) are cherished pieces. The Khamsa is considered a protective symbol against the evil eye and is worn by both Muslims and Jews in Morocco. At Moroccan weddings, gold is presented in elaborate ceremonies as a sign of prosperity and family bond. In the diaspora, jewellery with Moroccan motifs makes belonging visible without a single word.
Material and Quality of Our Moroccan Necklaces
Our Morocco Collection uses different materials depending on the product. The Moroccan necklace for men is made from high-quality stainless steel with 18K gold plating – rust-proof, waterproof and scratch-resistant. The women's version is crafted from 18K gold-plated brass and hand-set with zirconia stones for an elegant, sparkling finish. Both versions are waterproof and allergy-friendly: wear them in the shower, at the gym or every day. All products come with a 365-day guarantee. Each necklace is delivered in a premium jewellery box – a perfect gift for Eid, weddings or any special occasion.
Moroccan Necklace for Men and Women
Our Morocco Collection has something for everyone. The men's necklace features a 60 cm curb chain with a bold stainless steel pendant – the star in strong relief. The women's version comes with a finer 40 cm chain (plus 5 cm extension) and a zirconia-studded pendant – elegant yet equally expressive. Both are available in silver and gold. For those who want the complete look, the Morocco Bundle pairs a necklace with a matching bracelet at a reduced set price.
Moroccan Necklace in Silver or Gold – Which One Suits You?
Gold carries deep significance in Moroccan culture – at weddings and family celebrations, gold jewellery has been the most meaningful gift for generations. The gold version of our Moroccan necklace honours that tradition: the 18K gold plating gives the star a warm, rich glow. The silver version offers a cooler, more modern look – and echoes the Berber silversmithing heritage of the Atlas mountains. Both variants are waterproof and allergy-friendly. Many customers order both colours or add the matching bracelet bundle.
More Than a Necklace: The Full Morocco Range
Beyond necklaces, our Morocco Collection offers a wide range of accessories. The Moroccan bracelet pairs perfectly with the necklace and works on its own or as a set. The Morocco keychain is ideal for anyone who wants to carry their connection subtly but daily. Especially popular: the Morocco phone case and the Morocco mirror with the star motif. Every product combines Moroccan symbolism with premium material and everyday durability.
Buying a Moroccan Necklace – What to Look For
If you're looking to buy a Moroccan necklace, pay attention to three things: material, craftsmanship and chain length. For material, stainless steel and high-quality brass with 18K gold plating are the best options – far more durable than cheap fashion jewellery that tarnishes within weeks. For craftsmanship, check the star pendant: the five points should be cleanly worked and the relief clearly defined. For chain length, we recommend 55 to 60 cm for men and 40 to 50 cm for women. At d'origine, you order directly from our shop – no middlemen. We ship worldwide: free shipping within Germany, free across Europe on orders over €25, and affordable international shipping to the US, Canada, UK, Australia and beyond.
How Many Moroccans Live in Europe and Worldwide?
The Moroccan diaspora is one of the largest in Europe. France is home to an estimated 1.5 to 2 million Moroccans and their descendants – the biggest Moroccan community outside Morocco. Spain follows with over 800,000, Belgium with around 500,000, the Netherlands with approximately 400,000 and Italy with over 400,000 Moroccan residents. In Germany, an estimated 200,000 Moroccans and their descendants have settled, primarily in North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Frankfurt. Worldwide, the Moroccan diaspora is estimated at 5 to 6 million people – relative to a home population of 37 million. A Moroccan necklace with the star is, for many, a daily sign of that connection – quiet, but unmistakable. At d'origine, we understand this feeling, because that's exactly why we founded the brand: jewellery that makes heritage visible.
